Ubiquiti Unifi UAP-nanoHD Wall Plate v4 - no pass - 4 posts

Description

I wanted a solution to mount my Unifi Nano-AP to a wall box in my ceiling and use a keystone jack (so I could use one termination on the wire in the ceiling and if needed just change wall plates as the future needs change). I found many ideas on Thingiverse, but nothing exactly what I wanted. This became my first experience with TinkerCAD and I merged a few items I pulled from Thingverse to create a 3D printable wall plate with recessed space for a keystone jack. There is enough room to fit everything in a deep wall box (and even some of the non-deep boxes) for the keystone jack, assuming you can feed the wire back into the wall/ceiling. I used a 6” thin cat6 patch cable from Monoprice. To make it fit, I had to cut away the boot carefully with a Dremel and wire snips. Worked perfectly. For me, this all worked great. Gets the NanoHD almost flush to the ceiling (like the manufacture planned). I want to give some credits and thanks to the following people (as I re-used items from their designs and it can be seen in my file). Ubiquity UniFi AP ceiling box mount by DougTheBuilder https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4544201 Note: I printed this design and I used his keystone mount in my design. His keystone was a better fit from the one I originally tested, so I re-used it. Mounting Ring: Ubiquiti UAP-AC-LR UAP-AC-LITE UAP-nanoHD Twist Off Mounting Plate by jordan_woyak https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2819858 Note: I corrected the thickness of the plate (to match the original plate), the tab also needed to be widened. Note 2: I spun the mounting screw holes 45 degrees to use as posts for strength to the wall plate (possibly overkill). There are many wall plates on Thiniverse that I looked at. I apologize, I do not recall the source of the actual wall plates I started from (I used two different plates to get to the final result).
