Desk Organizer
Description
The purpose of this 3D design is to organize the desk of students during virtual learning. The top tray is where the laptop is placed, there are two openings on the sides to charge the laptop. Underneath the laptop tray are two drawers. One drawer could be used to store writing utensils while the other drawer could be used to store notebooks. The biggest issue was the size of this design. Not everybody has the same laptop, to accommodate for the different sizes, the top tray was made bigger than a 15-inch MacBook Pro. Another issue was the drawer for the notebooks, the drawer is designed to be big enough for composition books and some spiral notebooks, but it may not fit spiral notebooks that are bulkier. If I could redesign this again, I would make the drawers bigger to accommodate bigger notebooks. I would also add ports for flash drives to be inserted into for people who own multiple flash drives. 3D printing helps strengthen my design by allowing the design to be resized for different laptops or different sized notebooks. 3D printing will also increase the strength of the three parts in this design, the main component and two drawers. Printing one component of this design in one piece will make it stronger than putting together smaller pieces.
