Little Kids Ring - Interchangeable Gems
Description
A small child's ring with 6 interchangeable gem stones. Sized for a 44 mm circumference finger there is a split in the ring which allows some flexibility. The part files are intended for mixing and matching various colors of filament for the ring base and the gem stones. Another idea is to coat the gems with nail polish to give them a sparkle. The Gem stones are toleranced to pop on the ring base and stay in place. The squish layer on the parts creates a snapping mechanism. Over time the parts may become more loose and eventually need to be glued together. Loctite super glue works really well for this. Because of the tight tolerance and for best printing results it is highly recommended to thermally calibrate your filament for the 0.1mm tolerance and thus 0.2mm clearance between the parts. This clearance space needs to be maintained if the parts are scaled up or down. If anyone has a special sizing request just contact me.
