Car Sun Visor Vertical

Car Sun Visor Vertical

Description

So, my mom is short, and I fractured a bunch of vertibrae and some ribs when I got knocked out of a tree by a 200 lb. branch I was cutting. Stupid, huh? You might wonder what this has to do with a sun visor... I'm getting there. Any way, a couple of weeks after the accident, Mom volunteered to drive me to the doctor's office. I got into the passenger seat, and noticed she'd rigged an extension onto her sun visor with cardboard and rubber bands. She tells me the sun shines right in her eyes below the visor. But, she's gotta replace the rubber bands every week or so. Ah ha... While I'm proud of my mom's ingenuity, I figured we could do something better. So, after shopping online, and finding nothing, I came up with this. I printed it in PETG for temperature resilience. PLA might be OK depending on where you live. You'll need some 3/4 inch Velcro strap, two M4 hex bolts & nuts. Print one shade, one bracket and two knobs. Press the nuts into the knobs. Screw the bolts into the rear of the bracket, and assemble as shown. Use the Velcro strap to attach to your existing sun visor. Adjust the height, and set by tightening the knobs. You can just mount the shade on the bracket in reverse for the right passenger's side. Happy Motoring!
