Covid-19 mask removable nose clip
Description
If your Covid-19 mask is fogging up your glasses, it is not protecting you at all! It's hard to find a legitimate N95 mask nowadays, and the market is filled with Chinese KN95 masks. Although the fabric is certified to filter 95% of virus-sized particles, the provided bendable nose clip is not rigid enough and air vent through gaps on the sides of your nose, below your eyes. To avoid this, several makers are designing and 3D printing nose clips. The clip must be fixed to the mask, or it will pop out. My approach was to add extensions to the clip designed by Augusto_Seiffer (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4287353). The extensions are attached to the mask's elastic bands keeping the nose clip in place. Advantages: No more venting (greatly minimizing risk and glass fogging) No need to glue or sew the clip to the mask (easily removable, you can discard the mask and reuse the clip) Do not introduce any new gaps like some designs. Obs: The extension length fits a KN95 mask, but you can stretch the design to fit other brands. If you print on PLA, you should also immerse the clip in hot water and bend it to adjust better to your face (a half cup of water microwaved for 40 seconds will do great). DISCLAIMER: PLA is brittle! A moderate impact may break the nose clip and it may cause injury to your face or eyes. Use it at your own risk. 3D printed parts could retain pathogens between layers, disinfect often. Use it at your own risk. You should certify that the clip fits nicely and sealing the gaps (bend it using hot water if necessary). If the gaps are not sealed, the risk of contracting diseases is not minimized. Use it at your own risk.
