Redcat Gen 8 Jeep Wrangler Cage (SCX10, TRX4 compatible)
Description
Hi guys, This is a cage for the Redcat Gen 8 for use with a cheap Chinese Jeep Wrangler body shell. The Chinese shells are a little shorter than normal, so this doesn't work 100% with name brand shells as-is, the front and back sections are about 10-15mm too short. My 2 cents worth is that is you can't get a good price ($15 US) on the cheap Chinese shells, buy a name brand, mainly because it's hard to get one to your door in good shape without spending a fortune on shipping. If you buy two the chances are good that one will be good for a basher shell and one will be in nice shape. 12428 crawler conversion/SCX10 clone mount kit here: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4629482 Check it out running on the YouTube: https://youtu.be/jw6EaQD7Egw You'll need M2 screws for assembly, or brad nails and glue, or a combination of both. Print the parts lying down for the greatest strength. Instructions coming soon, but I hope the assembly diagram is pretty obvious. If you want to use the battery tray, it slides over the Redcat Battery tray in the front and I glued the brace to the tray and screwed it to the chassis installed body mount. If you want to use the seats, I glued them to a rectangular cardboard box with a cutout for the Redcat battery tray. 12428 chassis: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4165145 12428 solid front axle: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4160173 Stinger bumper: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4588243 Rear bumper: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4622429 Bumper mount kit: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4617755 The driver is a Gaslands figure from KarnageKing (I farted around with the scaling and lost track of the actual size, oops): https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3533920 Use at your own risk.
