Square Draft Tower for Ice Cube Cooler

Square Draft Tower for Ice Cube Cooler

Description

This is a square draft tower I designed to convert an igloo ice cube cooler into a portable kegerator/jockey box. I fit a 2.5 gallon corny ket in the cooler and surround it with ice. The tower is inserted through a hole cut through the lid and screwed on. The piece of plastic you see inside the cooler is a piece of big PVC as my less elegant solution for CO2 tank mounting. It supports a 20oz paintball tank. Eventually I'll design a printed part for the tank Some notes, The bottom threaded "bolt" inserts to the square body, I was able to pressure fit mine as I had some trimming to do with a dremel sanding drum. The top cap pressure fits on. The square nut inserts and is glued into the bottom cap. That part is optional but I use it as an actual cap since I store my draft line, connectors, and tools in the tower when not in use. I printed every part at 1mm layer height except the threads. threaded portions were printed at .2mm. Lots of walls, lots of infill. Its very possible drunk people will be tugging on this thing and you don't want it breaking in the middle of a party or camping trip. As long as you orient everything correctly, there should be no need for support material.
