Aperture Labs License Plate
Description
My daughter and I have been playing Portal, I thought this a fun project. The goal was to print an Aperture Labs license plate, not wanting to join the base, I designed the large background in one piece. The picture shown shows all parts in PTEG, however PTEG is difficult to print it on my Ender 3 Pro. PLA will do fine, but I recommend using a Matte or Satin exterior non-yellowing clear coat (hardware store spray can) to add protection from UV rays, and to seal any cracks exposed to freeze thaw. The colors consist of black, white and electric blue. The logo pieces fit snugly into the 2mm detents and are held by superglue, they remain 2mm above the surface of the black plate. Pulling the parts off of the raft I laid them face up on sand paper, and rubbed them over the sandpaper smoothing out the back, and cleaning the sides just a touch. I used 120 grit, and was careful not to mar the finished surfaces with sandpaper. The size and hole layout are taken from an actual PA state license plate.
