Pxmalion Corei3 E3D V6 Style Hot End Conversion

Pxmalion Corei3 E3D V6 Style Hot End Conversion

Description

Conversion parts to mount a E3D V6 style hot end to the existing Pxmalion corei3 X carriage. The 40mm heat sink cooling fan is repurposed as the new part cooling fan, the original one was ineffective anyway. This conversion solves the heat creep issue of the original hotend especially with petg filament so jams are no longer a problem and prints should be much less stringy. The Hot end mount and clamp will require two additional M4 X 25mm screws and nuts, all other mounting hard ware can be reused. about a 90mm piece of Teflon liner or bowden tube should be used to guide the filament from the extruder to the hotend. Note, I found that in order to get the extruder motor to not skip steps and increase in motor current will be necessary to around 300-400ma. HOWEVER this will cause the motor to reach about 60 C so it is recemented to insulate where the motor + extruder contact the mount with thin washers. Normally 200-300ma should run the motor cooler so you don't warp the mount, but skipping steps will occur.
