Nozzle Assistant

Nozzle Assistant

Description

Nozzle Assistant. You can buy a tool and adapter to use a socket at the hardware store but why spend $12 when you can just get a $3 6mm socket and make it yourself? Plus most of the drivers that you can adapt you find in the store are too long. NOTE: If using the Micro Swiss hot end I believe that is a 7mm socket. The assistant will work fine with that. You will just need a different socket. This is a simple handle and shaft that you can put a 3/8 6mm socket on. With this tool it is much easier to change the nozzle then dealing with those little wrenches. Depending on how dialed in your printer is you may have to sand the locking bar to fit and clean the holes a little. It should be tight but not impossible to get in and out as needed. The main shaft is a little undersized to the handle for ease of assembly. Designed in 3 parts for max strength and parts replace-ability. Print as noted in the picture above. I printed mine in PETG but PLA+ and maybe even regular PLA should work. There is not a lot of torque on these nozzles so it should be strong enough to last a while. Make sure to print the main shaft and the locking bar laying down for max strength. Trimming of the nub may be required to get it to fit your socket correctly. The Nub is not really needed as it should be snug enough on most sockets. If you want to you can also print the version without the nub called SmoothShaft so you don't have to deal with trim and fitting work. You need 1 of each Handle Shaft OR Smooth Shaft (only need 1 of them) Lock bar Print with 100% infill for a strong tool.
