Jellyfish Pencil Holder

My design is a pencil holder that doubles as a piece of art. Once all the holes are filled with pencils, the overall image should come close to looking like an upside down jellyfish. The pencils make the tentacles which stick up into the air. I created this design because I desperately need a pencil holder for all my writing utensils. Currently all my pens and pencils are strewn across my desk, so this design would greatly improve my life. While creating this design, I struggled to make the pencil holes all the same size and space apart. I also had to measure and guess about the relative size of the pencil holes so that they weren’t too small or too big. If I redesigned this piece, I would try to add a little more texture to help the overall design look more like a jellyfish. For example, I’d like to add a sort of barrier to the underside of the jellyfish/top of the design that would surround the pencil holes. I think this would help the overall look of the design and make it look more like a real jellyfish. By 3D printing this, my design would become real and tangible. It would turn my design into an actual, functional, but creative object that I can start using to organize my writing utensils.
