GoPro Timelapse case from GoPro Packaging
Description
All new Gopro packaging includes a clear hard plastic top piece. The area where the camera is showcased in the packaging GoPros come in. I've been saving mine since i got my gopro 7 and gopro 8 black. I always thought that the clear plastic case could be useful for some kind of diy project. So I finally designed a bottom piece for it and made it fit tight enough that it would stay on the clear plastic bit snugly. I then added a gopro mount and one of those cylindrical phone chargers to it so that my gopro had extra juice for timelapses. The clear plastic bit has a mounting hole on top so i guess retailers could add it to a display rack. I added a carabiner, reusable zip tie and one of those velcro straps to it so i could mount the case to various objects for my timelapses. Although this has been working successfully for me, i would advice strengthening the bottom piece with some tape or removable adhesive. I am working on another bottom piece that will include a tripod mount so you could mount this on a tripod outdoors as well. I have found the case to be relatively water resistant. I have shot timelapses in the rain and being that the bottom piece fits really snugly onto the clear plastic bit, no rain got inside the case. I would advise anyone who uses this to do proper testing before leaving it out in the rain. Just speaking of my experience. If anyone prints this and uses it, I would love to see how you take advantage of the top mounting area of the clear plastic bit and how you take advantage of the internal real estate of this case.
