"Freezer Jail" Freezer Organizer / Divider (with STEP file)
Description
There's a new sheriff in town, and he doesn't like messy freezers... Introducing the "Freezer Jail"! This was my attempt to bring order to the chaos of my chest freezer. I looked around for freezer organizers but they are crazy expensive, and it's just a simple divider. Though not cheap, the materials cost me $29 plus the cost of the PETG and screws (and that includes $6 for some optional silicone feet). I can also expand it further with additional panels. I used the following parts: * 3/4 x 36" square dowel rods (5 pack) Amazon Item "B01C6BZ2YE" (please copy and paste the item in the search field at Amazon, you can read why below) * Go Create 3/8" Round Wooden Dowels, 10ct (qty3) https://www.walmart.com/ip/Go-Create-3-8-Round-Wooden-Dowels-10-ct/298692813 * Large Clear Bumpers Pads 9PCS 31.2mm Rubber Clear Glass Bumpers Round Bumpers for Glass Top Cutting Board (qty 1) - Optional Amazon Item "B085DNW9FP" (please copy and paste the item in the search field at Amazon, you can read why below) * I also used a number of #8 x 3/4" stainless steel wood screws similar to these Amazon Item "B083JC54B9" (please copy and paste the item in the search field at Amazon, you can read why below) This is very much a DIY project though, since every fridge is different. There are several types of corners and variations of each type: * The 2-way corners have ports for the 3/8" dowels on both sides and the 1-way corners come in a "LEFT" and "RIGHT" versions. If you need to have the spacer tight to a wall of the frigde then I'd use the 1-way corners. * There are also 2 types of bases. One with a space for a round 31.2mm clear bumper which I used as a foot for the base (W-PAD). There is also a plain one (NO-PAD). There are 3 types of the holders for the 3/8" dowels which hold the pickets: * There is a one sided (1-way) freezer-organizer-4J-1-way-POST-HOLDER.stl * The two sided (2-way) holder is: freezer-organizer-4J-2-way-POST-HOLDER.stl * There is also a special "1-way" holder which has a round cutout to be used with the "BASE-W-PAD" corners which have the clear bumpers (this allows the holder to sit tight to the base). freezer-organizer-4J-1-way-POST-HOLDER-USE-WITH-BASE-W-PAD.stl I built the panels with pinned corners except for one side (no reason), but feel that pinning the corners is not needed. It should not be necessary to drill any holes (other than pre-drilling for screws). The screws seemed to be fine to hold the panels together. If you make one please post a make. If you have questions or suggestions, you can post them in the comments. The STEP file is uploaded for easy remixing. Please respect the non-commercial license, but if you would like to make these for sale please contact me for terms. 1/23/2021 - I have removed any Amazon links, and instead provided the amazon item numbers in quotes. This was done as a small protest against the way Thingiverse edited my description, and installed their Amazon Affiliate links without notifying users that they were doing it. Sorry for the extra step of having to copy and paste the item numbers, but I believe they need to be clear with content creators about this. I did not originally post my own affiliate links here - they were "clean" Amazon links, but for some content creators here, the affiliate links are the only way they receive anything back for their work, and that avenue is now closed off.
