Cat40 Tool holder
Description
added pics of my pop rivet air tool used to install blind nut fasteners. I used a long stainless bolt that I had on hand but a strong grade 8 bolt would be better. The threaded brass sleeve helps keep the bolt centered during the pull. The black bolt is hardened. The pop riveter has more than enough pulling force to strip the bling fastener threads (I have the T shirt). You need to adjust and reduce the tool pull travel on a sheet metal test sample. Tool Holder (Holder) that mounts on the side of a small tool cabinet. You will need some long 60mm M3x0.5 cap head bolts. All the holes have a printed M3x0.5 threads. My tool holders are all heavy and I did not want to trust in print layer adhesion so the upper bolts are in tension keeping the print together. My cabinet design prevents interior access for nut and bolt attachment so used a blind fastener for example rivnuts or nutserts. Start printing the base and stop the print so you have a thin drilling template. I used a cordless drill and melted the threads using friction to reinforce the structure, vastly stronger than carbon fiber filament and my attempt at reinforced concrete plastic style. Designed in fusion 360 and printed on a CR10s pro with a direct drive mod. Have fun -Peter
