iPad Pro + Magic Keyboard USB-C hub adapter

iPad Pro + Magic Keyboard USB-C hub adapter

Description

This is a quick and dirty model for a compact adapter to mount the new iPad Pro USB-C hubs on the latest 12.9” iPad Pro while attached to the new Magic Keyboard. As the current hubs are too narrow to slip onto the upper right corner of the iPad Pro + Magic Keyboard combo, I designed this to do the job with as low a profile as I could engineer while still providing a secure fit on both the iPad Pro and the hub. (Use this without the optional spacer that is included with the hub.) Print settings: 15% infill density 0.4mm nozzle Set overhang supports to ON in slicer Estimated print time: 1 hr 11 minutes Carbon Fiber PLA at 215° worked well- should be able to substitute any good PLA without sacrificing rigidity or security. NB- please be sure your model lies completely flat on the slicer print platter when it’s imported for slicing. I had one print lift from the bed because it did not import fully flush with the slicer platter, leaving a gap. (Alternately, a raft will help with this issue if needed.) To be added/modified: - Speaker grill pass-through holes to allow better speaker fidelity while in use - Modify clip design/add insert to also permit hub use on MacBooks that support USB-C(!) Shout out to the fine folks at The Inventery- creators of Morphi for the iPad- Which I used to 100% model and export this adapter. It’s a very handy and inexpensive tool to whip up quick prototypes and final designs for export. (I have no affiliation with The Inventery, I simply use the app and love it.)
