Description

This is a remix of BoothyBoothy's awesome Hydra Fan Duct, and is designed for the CR10S Pro V1 (which is what I have), with a MicroSwiss Hotend. Since this a design which will fit near the hot end, and has only had limited testing on my printer so far, printing or using this is at your own risk. Use your best judgement on if this is right for your printer and please let me know if you see something that can be improved (feedback is welcome). This remix has been a work in progress for a while now, but I have printed the earlier model (prototype) and tested it, and it works after some minor changes. I updated the model posted here to help avoid some issues with the installation, and just make it work better. So although I have not printed all the parts here, I have printed parts that are nearly identical aside from changes which I feel are improvements to the prototype I have installed. I normally test the posted models, but filament is not free, and what I have is working, so there seems little point to print parts just to confirm minor changes. Again though if you run into an issue let me know, and if I can update the part to fix it, I will. The main change from the prototype was a switch to M3 insert nuts for the fan, since I had a problem with the nut's spinning out in their pockets due to having to remove the fan several times. I think the inserts will be longer lived, and were the fix for the spinning out nuts which I installed on the prototype which was not designed for them. I also added a BL-touch adjustable mount instead of the inductive probe mount this was originally designed for. Although I only briefly tested the 18mm inductive probe mount, it worked OK, so I am including it. The BMG stepper mount and fan ducts pictured are BoothyBooty's originals, without changes. <strong>I did not include the files for the fan ducts, or the other extruder mounts, please get them from the original Hydra design linked below.</strong> The fans I am using are 5010 fans. https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4062242 <strong> This was designed with the additional help of the following:</strong> The 3D model of the CR10S Pro x-gantry by <strong> PolygonHell</strong> (sorry the link I had no longer works). <strong> Ookamii's </strong> Heatfixer to fit the taller MicroSwiss Hot end I use on my CR10S Pro (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4457658). This uses M3 screws and locknuts as the original, as well as four M3 heat set inserts (similar to these https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B01IYWUUH8/). It will require mostly M3x10mm screws but two M3x16mm screws will be necessary if using a direct drive extruder. The adjustable BL-Touch mount has a probe offset of x0.00 y-46.00 The inductive probe has an offset of x0.00 y-40.00 Parts are not oriented for printing (see the pics for a suggested orientation). Supports are optional, though I did use them on the fan guard and the Cable Management bracket. I used the following settings when printing the test parts: 0.16 layer height 50% infill (gyroid) 3 walls I would use PETG or ABS on these parts, though I printed some in PLA (but I plan to update them with PETG). Pardon the wire mess, I need to rework the fan splitter so it is more compact. STEP file included for easy remixing. This was designed using ViaCAD V12 Pro. If you make one, please post a make.
