Recycling logos
Description
Hey makers ! After getting my 3D printer last year, I noticed I was still throwing a lot of failed prints in the bin. I mostly print with PLA as it is naturally sourced, compostable and does not release toxic fumes if burnt in the landfill. But to eventually reach your local industrial compost, it needs to be identified otherwise it will surely end up burnt ... Same for other plastics on the long run, the recycling center needs to identify the plastic and without any logo, the part is once again burnt or worse exported to developing countries. As the maker community is growing, we need to be more responsible if we want to eventually scale into actual manufacturing services one day. I have made small 3D logo files in both .step and .stl, even for some materials that are not really recycled yet. They're the smallest size that can be printed with a 0.4 nozzle and can be used easily before exporting or during slicing. They're all available on my dropbox, in the link in bio. Please use them and share them ! I'll try and get in touch with slicer developers so they could maybe integrate them easily. Picture by Julien Deceroi ( insta : @juliendeceroi )
