Baloths of Bala Ged
Description
for 5th ed use the stats for Triceratops for the regular baloth and baloth matriarch, use the stats for a rhino for the pup. Pre-supported mini on my [Patreon](https://www.patreon.com/posts/43577153) I was looking through the [Plane Shift Zendikar](https://media.wizards.com/2016/downloads/magic/Plane%20Shift%20Zendikar.pdf) supplement for D&D and it said to use the stats for a triceratops for a Baloth. I didn't think it made sense because most baloths are like the [enormous baloth](https://gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Card/Details.aspx?multiverseid=189882) which is what I consider to be the archetypal baloth so I went a bit overboard on my headcanon taxonomy for the baloths of Zendikar. These minis are based on the rampaging baloths card, zendikar's 4/4 beast token, and the baloth pup card. Since there are depictions of both herding baloths and solitary gargantuan baloths in cards from the Zendikar sets I decided that there were two main varieties of Baloth on Zendikar and these herding baloths are the ones that are represented by the plane shift pdf. I was tempted to refer to these herding baloths as Zendikari Pygmy baloths purely because calling something bigger than a car pygmy amused me but I settled on Baloth of Bala Ged due to one being depicted on Beastbreaker of Bala Ged. These form large herds of female baloths and young baloths lead by the oldest female while the males are solitary and only interact with the herds after they reach maturity during mating season.
