Petal Hood for Nikon P7700 and P7800
Description
A petal hood for Nikon P7700 and P7800 cameras. Includes a matching petal container. Easy to print even on a very small 3D printer. Required print volume ca. 60 x 60 x 30 mm. Not applicable to Nikon P7000 and P7100 due to missing filter thread. =================================================================== Updated 22 November 2020: Added groove to facilitate visual azimuth adjustment of the hood. Updated .scad and .stl files: Added a petal for a 40.5 to 46.0 mm adapter ring. My 40.5 to 40.5 adapter ring, although a "slim" type, is just slightly clipping the corners when the zoom lens is wide open. The 40.5 to 46.0 mm adpater ring does not show this problem. However the 40.5 to 46.0 mm petal and the associated container are somewhat larger. =================================================================== Apart from the 3D printed parts you will need either a 40.5 to 40.5 mm adapter ring (which you may extract from a cheap 40.5 mm UV-filter if not available as a stock item) or a 40.5 to 46.0 mm threaded adapter ring which is available as a stock item e.g. on ebay. Caution: The 40.5 to 46.0 mm adapter ring is the largest adapter ring compatible with the lens in retracted position. I include the OpenSCAD source file. It enables you to make the necressary modifications for different adapter ring dimensions and allows you to integrate your own improvements.
