BMG Extruder + V6 Hotend for Monoprice Maker Select (i3)
Description
Convert your Maker Select (or Wanhao i3 knock-off) machine to use one of the best extruder/hotend combos: BMG + E3D v6. This is a design I formulated for a while and uses a basket style bracket which accommodates: - BMG style extruder ( I used a Triangle Lab version ) - E3D v6 hotend (or knockoff if you're feeling lucky) - 5015 blower for cooling parts - BLTouch v3 - OEM X rails + linear bearings/blocks - OEM X endstop bracket and switch ## Necessary Adjustments to the Y Endstop In order to prevent losing 20mm on the Y axis, you will want to re-position the Y endstop. I opted to drill two new holes for the mount itself +20mm up on the Y axis from the original holes. ### Suggestion I suggest installing the bracket and extruder/hotend assembly then home the Y axis. Next, from Y=0, move the Y axis in small increments in order to find true Y=0 (use a ruler to measure). The measurement you see now on the Y axis is exactly how much you should offset your Y endstop. This will be the most accurate way.
