Shield Generator to End all Shield Generators
Description
So, I came across Wyloch's Armory on youtube a while back. He did this cool scratch-build of a void shield out of cardboard and a few printed parts. Me thinks if you are going to model parts for it to print? why not just do the whole thing? So thats what I did. With a bunch of parts from SevenUnited's building kits for the details. I could not find the led set that he used on his. Best I could find was a set of 8, 30cm lights, so I modeled the kit around that. I doing so, the final build is almost 17inches tall! This thing makes a statement! These are the lights I used but anything of similar size should work. Battery operated would be best: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B06XPGNLKT/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 To top the pillars, I used glass marbles. If you dont want to deal with marbles, an optional topper is included. There is also a proxy for the led light tube, if you'd rather just print it without the lights. I printed 8 PillarPanels, and 8 PillarCoil, instead of 4, I like it better having them inside and out of the lights. You can do them in either combination, or without. I also have a cut up version of the base, as it was the largest part. If you print this instead, print 4 copies, no mirroring, they should all fit, but I haven't tested it. I painted mine mostly with spray paint and airbrush, then shade wash and drybrush highlight. painted all the parts, then assembled it. superglue worked well, plus some hot glue underneath to hold the led's really good.
