frankenques 2 DAS adapter - remix
Description
I remixed this from 3 different models: - I liked the mushroom cap design of the clip for the frankenquest mod for the original quest from foreverwinter https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3892003 (who remixed it from this model: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3691033) - I liked the fact that sekazi's design moves the DAS back about 13mm from tanvach's design(which makes it fit better on my big head, especially since I have thicker cushions). i also didn't want the oculus logo on it. sekazi's design can be found here: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4626882 - I used the base from tanvach https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4626664. I spent about 5 days trying to design my own, but I could not figure it out with my very subpar CAD skills ;) I did this all in tinkercad, and I know the stl's have a lot of manifold issues(the left has just over 72,000 errors, and the right has just over 38,000), however it still sliced perfectly in prusaslicer @ 0.1mm and .15mm layer height. I also sliced in cura 4.6 @ 0.12mm layer height and it sliced with no issues. I did notice in both if I use a skirt, it doesn't seem to slice the skirt properly. I ended up using prusa slicer. I printed this with pla on my prusa mini with supports on the build plate only, 40% infill, 4 perimeters. for the support settings i used: Z contact distance: 0.2mm pattern spacing: 3mm contact layers: 4 xy separation between an object and it's support: 75% (other settings were default) i t was a pretty tight fit, i smoothed out the edges with a small file and some 400grit sandpaper. depending on your printer you may want to scale it up by about 1%. other parts i used for my quest 2 frankenquest set up: "Quest 2 DAS frankenquest velcro clip" (eliminates the need for a d-ring) by me =] https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4627981 "HTC Vive Wireless DAS Battery holder" by tselling https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3889332 AMVR PU Leather Sponge Vive Pro Deluxe Audio Strap: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B089LMP1JW/ KIWI design Headband Head Strap (I don't really like this, so I'm looking for an alternative): https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B081V8W4ZQ/ AMVR Touch Controller Grip Cover: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07X117LPR/ UGREEN USB C Right Angle Cable 90 Degree Type C (1.5ft) - this is a little longer than needed, but it works well so far): https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07PFHB3R4/ Anker PowerCore 10000: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0194WDVHI/ i am still searching for travel case that is relatively small and protective. i am aslo waiting for my VRcover face cover replacement from oculus, which has still not shipped.
