Description
If you are a windsurfer since some times, you know what it takes to have harness lines not well balanced or tuned on your boom. EZ-TRIM Harness line Gen 2 is a revolutionary system to trim your harness lines while sailing : watch the video : https://youtu.be/t7izQPLgtv0 This is an upgrade of EZ-TRIM Harness line Gen 1 (Thing : 4520587), much thinner and lighter. And also simpler to mount and build ! You can print it for your boom (parameters are set depending of your boom diameter to have a tight mounting), use it and show it to your friends. The conditions to use those files are : - print it for YOUR OWN USE ONLY (no sales) - Keep the EZ-TRIM name on the model and use EZ-TRIM name in your communication on the concept. In the association Windsurf EZ-TRIM Group , we have set a challenge to have at least 100 users of self-made EZ-TRIM systems shortly. Usually the plastic part can be easily taken off after dilation when dipping the end in boiling water. 2) Ideally the section of the tube has the same diameter at the location for the harness lines as at the boom end (at the clew). In case the diameter is reduced at location for the harness lines, a trick is explained in part 5) : a PLA sleeve can be build to make up for the gap. 3) boom diameter at clew between 29 to 36mm. The default design was made for 35mm boom and I expect the down-sizing scale effect to be too strong below 30mm diameter (redesign needed) The boom can have an oval section, provided you choose a ring diameter that is +0.2mm larger diameter than the max diameter of the oval section. UPDATE JAN 2021 : The design of the clamp_on device has been updated. The new version is Clamp on blocage NG v3o, the improvements are : more robust, lever has been strengthened, the thickness also optimised to increase the contact surface between layers. That part was tested also using ABS charged with Kevlar, the results look promising and more appropriate than PLA that I was using before and got broken too often ! UPDATE SEPT 2021 : The design of the clamp_on device has been updated a second time. The version Clamp blocage NG v3ob, has a tiny improvement . And there is also a variant where Clamp blocage NG v3p is almost the same as Clamp blocage NG v3ob, except that the connection between the 2 part making the clamp on is not anymore extruded out of plastic : too fragile; instead I have created a hole for a 2mm diam nail or better the center nail of a rivet (stainless steel) Clamp on laniere NG v3l has been slightly improvement , It is now generated with the axis vertical, this makes the printing better (use also support) as the 2 circle for the axes have any layer holding the shaft firmly what ever layer the connection between layer is. FINALLY instead of using Laniere (TPU) and Clamp blocage (PETG/ABS), I have created a part rigid easier to mount and using Decathlon Clamp on Mechanism for SUP, check for that file bague_clamp-on_gen_3_g.stl.
