Z Strain Relief Spacer for Nema 17 (Sapphire Pro and more)

Z Strain Relief Spacer for Nema 17 (Sapphire Pro and more)

Description

This is a strain relief spacer for Z motor of Sapphire Pro and other printers (you can actually put it in every Nema 17 Z motor), it has 3 functions: -Remove load on the motor axis -Increase printing height by 15mm lowering the lead screw (also useful if your gantry hits) -"Damper" for vibrations Original Sapphire Pro has all the bed weight loaded on the motor axis trough the lead screw, with this mod is possible to distribute the load on the lower frame directly, relieving the stress from the lower bearing of the Z motor: If you push the lead screw you can notice that there is a small click movement (less than 1mm) that's because under the lower bearing of the motor there is a small spring washer to support eventual load but this means possible movement! With this item you will have a proper support for the bed weight that will be loaded on the required ball bearing, then on the motor housing and then on the lower frame trough screws. To assemble it you just need: -1xF695ZZ bearing or equivalent (5x13x4mm) -1xM5 0,5mm or 1mm washer (to put in between the bearing and the lead screw coupler -4xM3 20 or 22mm bolts Assembly instructions 1. Insert the bearing on the printed support 2. Disassembly the motor, the coupler and the lead screw 3. Assembly only the motor and the spacer on the frame using the 4 bolts. 4. Put the spacer on the motor axis over the bearing (IMPORTANT!) 5. Mount the lead screw on top half part of the coupler, make sure to leave the horizontal cut free (the screw should not be visible from the horizontal cut). 6. Insert the coupler on the motor axis and check that the motor axes is not touching with the lead screw (if not add spacers under the coupler) 7. Tighten the lower screw of the coupler DONE!
