Filter Case, 95mm

Filter Case, 95mm

Description

A case for 95mm photographic filters. It uses 8mm X 3mm (diameter x thickness) neodymium magnets for closure. I designed it to add the magnets after printing, using epoxy to glue them in place. ==================== Magnets - 8mm X 3mm Take care to ensure that the magnets in the corners are all oriented the same way. Failure to do this will result in problems, such as the lid only working when turned a particular way. I prefer using a 2-part epoxy for this, as it will adhere to the magnets and the print and produce the strongest bond. Glue the 4 magnets into the recesses in the lid first. When they are done and the glue has set up, put the lid on your work surface WITH THE TOP (OUTSIDE) UP. Then place the bottom half of the case ON TOP of the lid, so the bottom of the bottom is in contact with the top of the top. Put a drop of epoxy into each of the recesses in the case bottom, then drop a magnet in -- the magnets in the lid, underneath the part, will force these magnets to flip into the correct orientation. If you make cases for multiple filters, make sure to orient the magnets the same way in all of the cases, then the cases will stick together -- not too tightly -- keeping things in your camera bag neat and organized.
