Rotating work or spray table

Rotating work or spray table

Description

With My Recent Return To Military And Armoured Fighting Vehicle Modelling, The Need For A Turntable Was Ever Growing. The Possibility To Rotate The Model While Constructing Or Painting Requires A Solid Base And The Ability To Turn The Table Top With One Finger. I Have Came Up With A Simple, Modular Design With Five 3D Printed Parts. The Only 'Real' Piece Needed Is A Lazy-Susan Type Ball Bearing Available At Most Hardware And Big Box Stores. I Have Designed The 'Turntablelazysusancoupler.Stl' Part To Fit A 3" Ball Bearing Lazy Susan Hardware, But If You Can'T Find That Size, It Is Very Easy To Scale That Part Only To Adjust It To What You Have. The Rest Of The Design Stays The Same. To Have A Complete Table Printed You Need The Following: 4X - Turntabletopquartersection.Stl 2X - Turntablelazysusancoupler.Stl 1X - Turntabletoppedestal.Stl 1X - Turntablebottompedestal.Stl 4X - Turntablebottomleg.Stl The Assembly Is Quite Simple; The 'Turntabletopquartersection.Stl' Part Has Tabs That Fit Together, Use Abs Compatible Glue (Or Whatever Other Type, If You Print Pla, Etc.) To Glue Them Together. The Two 'Turntablelazysusancoupler.Stl' Parts, Like A Clamshell, Hold The Lazy Susan Ball Bearing Hardware. I Have Used Silicone Caulk To Attach The Hardware To The Plastic Since I Did Not Want A Permanent Connection. Two-Part 5 Minute Epoxy Should Make A Permanent Bond. The Four 'Turntablebottomleg.Stl' Parts Attach To The 'Turntablebottompedestal.Stl' With Glue And Optionally With Small Metal Screws Through The Four Holes In The Legs. The Table Top Has Holes For Inserting Bamboo Skewers Or Toothpicks To Serve As Stands To Prop Up A Model Being Painted Or Worked On. And That Is About It. I Hope You Find This 'Thing' Useful.
