Modular Tiny Whoop Hovercraft

Modular Tiny Whoop Hovercraft

Description

Had a few days to make something fun over thanksgiving, so I decided to design a hovercraft 3d print that allows for a 65 mm whoop to be strapped to the top with a rubber band. This design was inspired by Peter Sripol’s whoop hovercraft, only without the tearing apart of the whoop itself. It floats in the same way, only with tubes to redirect air out the back for forward thrust. Turning is done using the yaw that normally turns the quad. Control is super simple and pretty good, just throttle up and yaw to turn. No reverse unfortunately. All you need to get this to work is two 3d prints, a garbage bag, hot glue, a cutting tool, and a rubber band. You also will need a pid profile where everything is set to 0 except for the yaw values. To put the skirt together follow this[https://youtu.be/F297FW81Fiw] link at around 3 minutes in. The craft is a little slow, but if your whoop already is setup with fpv, it’s super fun drive around, and fairly controllable. I’ll be uploading the files to thingiverse in a bit, I’ll link em in the comments when I do.
