Customizable Raspberry Pi 3B Sleeve Case

Customizable Raspberry Pi 3B Sleeve Case

Description

Sleeve case for a Raspberry Pi 3B. You'll need to print any one "Case" file and the "Front Cover" file. This started life because the USB cable I use for power is just a little bit too wide for many of the existing cases. Then I got a bit carried away. A few patterns are available for both the top and bottom of the case. You can also select "None" to avoid generating a pattern on that side at all. I've uploaded a couple of combinations, but you can create any combination of your own through the OpenSCAD file. It should be relatively simple to create your own pattern, too, based on the examples provided. The honeycomb pattern is copied from the [Parametric Card Box](https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3072760), which is a fantastic thing to print if you're into card games. If I can figure out how to add a second remix source, I'll add that as well. # Notes * I removed the code for the mounting arm from the model I remixed. I didn't need a mount on this case. It should be simple enough to add back if you want to do so while customizing the OpenSCAD file to your liking. * My original design goal of making a more accessible USB micro-B port wider was a huge success. If anything, it's almost too tall now, but it's not tall enough to cause problems. * At least on my printer, the case fit quite tightly at first, almost to the point where I thought I'd printed it too small. After inserting and removing the Pi a couple of times, the case got a bit more "broken in" and it became a bit easier. # Possible Future Improvements * The front cover doesn't quite sit flush, but it's a small enough difference that it doesn't bother me. * The microSD cutout in the case is all but useless right now, because the case extends far enough out from the cutout that it's impossible to grab and remove the card. At some point, I might take a stab at redesigning that part, but for now I can just remove the whole unit from the case if I need to remove the microSD card. * A cutout on the back to see the LEDs better could be cool. Enjoy!
