Cloud Reptile 149 Low Profile Ducts
Description
Update2: I've added "Octo" style ducts which would be similar to the iFlight Protek look. I haven't flown with these on yet, however I don't believe my round duct design was helping with efficiency as the tip to wall clearance was most likely too large and it may have even been reducing efficiency. It was also very noisy with 6 blade props. So hopefully the octo design (even lower profile) with the larger clearance will reduce the noise and be slightly more efficient. Update: I made a version with a curved inlet and the duct part is also slightly higher. I'm not sure if this will really help with efficiency as it was not calculated by any means but I assume it could be better than the sharp edge on my original. After seeing some newer "cinewhoops" come with low profile ducts I decided to try and print my own. My cinewhoop is almost impossible to fly smoothly in any kind of wind so I am hoping that these will make it flyable due to the lower surface area. I used PLA just because it was easy, but a stronger material would probably be better. My original screws seem to fasten quite well into the material, but a self tapping screw may be better in the long run.
