Flexible USB LED Lamp With Magnet Base
Description
This is a remix from ball and socket LED lamp. Two parts (frame for LED strip and ball links) were used from original design with no changes. I designed a half spherical new base (80 mm in diameter) for the lamp to use it everywhere. The base includes an attachment at the top to connect with the ball links. It also includes holes at the top and the bottom side as cable channels. You can use two sections of 10mm x 50mm (5050) LED strips as light source. If you want to power this lamp from usb port of a computer or a powerbank you must use a 5 V to 12 V DC-DC Converter (see the images of base bottom, these circuits are very small and cheap), because these LED strips require 12 V but USB ports give only 5 V. I used cable of an old mobile charger with male USB jack. Please use a thick cable as possible through the ball links. It will give more strength to the body of the lamp formed from ball links. Otherwise the ball links may become to loose with the time. I used 10 of these ball links to form the lamp body. You can use more or less links to adjust the lamp height. I glued a strong magnet from a damaged speaker as a weight to the base bottom (see the images of base bottom). It prevents the lamp from falling and makes it possible to use it on vertical metal surfaces. Printing orientations: Print the frame in original orientation (without support), ball links vertical (without support) and the base in original orientation (with support). I printed the base without supports; My Ender 3 Pro completed his job but there were problems on the top inner side...
