Dakason Fixed Portrait & Landscape Brackets for Dakason LED Ring Light
Description
These two objects are fixed arms that replace the cell phone mount gooseneck that comes with the "Dakason LED Ring Light with tripod Stand and Phone Holder" so that the cell phone camera can be positioned better than you can with the original gooseneck. The stock gooseneck is too springy and does not retain a fixed position. It also forces the user to position the cell phone out in front of the light, which casts a shadow, or too far behind the light ring. It is also hard to get the camera centered in the middle of the light ring with the original gooseneck. These brackets allow you to position the cell phone camera more in line with the light ring and more centered. The brackets are designed based on a Samsung Galaxy S6 and the placement of its rear camera (see photos). The portrait bracket is offset by ~7mm to take into account for opening the phone clamp jaws (opening the jaws shifts the center of the camera lens). The brackets weigh 11 grams (portrait) and 17 grams (landscape), with 100% infill. Print both objects laying flat, in the orientation shown in the diagram and which the object files are oriented. You will only need support material for the screw hole. The fit is tight enough that you do not need to fix the bracket with a screw. If you do want to screw it on, the stock threads that come with the Dakason light ring (U.S. version, I presume) are 1/4" 20. These brackets are specifically for the Dakason model LED ring light with tripod. If you have questions about whether these brackets will work with your light ring, see the close-up photo of the connection point on the light ring which shows this area.
