Nema gearbox belted reduction simple Tronxy Stepper gear

Description

Simple gearbox designed around my Tronxy X5SA-400. I wanted to add gear reduction to my printer, but never found a suitable (simple) solution. So this thing became my first steps in fusion. To be mounted instead of a NEMA17 by featuring same dimensions. Simple and versatile, can be used with infinite combinations of pulleys and belts. In this example 20 & 40T pulleys + 158T GT2 belt giving me a 2:1 reduction. BOM - 625 bearings 5x16x5 mm - 5mm shaft at least 50mm in lengh - M3 mounting hardware - M5 washers - 20T pulley (or a max of 22mm OD) to fit inside spacer - pulleys of choice (for reduction) - belt of choice Features: - snaps together for allignment - dimensions based on NEMA17 steppers - bottom plate with bearing pushfits into original motor mount - Spacer (U shaped middle piece) can be rotated as needed Advantages: - reduces stress on stepper bearings - much smoother movement, steppers sound HAPPY :) - higher acceleration possible - resolution multiplication - stepper current could be lowered to keep motors cool - NOISE REDUCTION (significant!) Shaft (order of parts bottom to top): lower bearing - M5 washer - 20T pulley - M5 washer - upper bearing - M5 washer(or two) - upper pulley Enjoy & happy printing! Star
