Hidden Phone Mount for Pontiac Fiero
Description
This is a hidden magnetic phone mount for the Pontiac Fiero. I relocated the power decklid switch to the lower portion of the cluster switch plate so that the upper portion can be used as a magnetic mount for a phone. Obviously this will not work if you have both the rear defrost and power decklid options. Uses two 60 x 10 x 5 mm neodymium bar magnets embedded into the backside. Mine pressed right in without the need for adhesive, but you may choose to glue/epoxy them in place for extra security. My phone has a wallet case with a magnetic cover on the backside and this is more than strong enough to hold it in place, even under the most "spirited" driving conditions. Works great for GPS or as an ALDLdroid display while datalogging. There is both a textured version and a non-textured version. IMO the textured version is not as obvious that it's 3D printed and provides a little grip keep the phone in place. I've also included a blank version with no switches for those who don't have the power decklid release option. Note that this will NOT work with a rear defrost switch in place of the power decklid switch as the mounting holes are offset differently to prevent mis-assembly at the factory. If there is a request for a version of this plate with rear defrost in place of the power decklid, I can make one.
