NeJe Laser control box "Stepcraft size"
Description
NeJe laser control box suitable to fit in Stepcraft enclosure. Why make a box? When I used the laser on my SC420 I found it annoying that the power was always on for the laser and that the tester board was laying loose. So I decided to make a box that looks like a Stepcraft box. The assembly and wiring is explained in the PDF file in the files section. To make it semi permanent I made a loop for the SD15 connection. Hardware used for this: - Male SD15 solder connector (goes into the CNC machine) - Female breakout connector (is placed in the control box) - Old unused SCART cable That makes that the auxiliary extension is on the back of the laser box, you can use it for any auxiliary tool. To complete the box the following hardware is used:: - NeJe Laser tester (included in laser package) - Laser power wire (included in laser package) - 12x M3 screws 8mm - 4x spring 6mm x 10mm long The NeJe laser set is supplied with a 12V 2Amp power supply that becomes active when my SC420 is ON. Because the Laser control box is semi permanent placed in the enclosure I made a On/Off switch so the laser is switched OFF when not used. Optional hardware: - On/Off switch 16mm diameter - 12V DC wall mount 2.5 x 5mm - 12V DC 90 degree connector 2,5 x 5mm Printing the box. All parts are print in PLA without support Special attention to: - Because the relative great printing surface of the Cover and Bottom warping is a risk. - Only Brim is used for Buttons, print 4 (place buttons vertical on push side) The text panel options: - can be printed using two color layers - or (milled) engraved on a two color engraving plastic sheet like: https://www.sorotec.de/shop/Materials/Engraving-material-1-5/ - or engrave the two color engraving plastic with the laser - or use a sticker foil and cut it with the laser and stick onto the front panel Assembling the box.
