PICAM Mount GOPRO connector for sliding bed
Description
I redesigned my PICAM mount to use gopro mounts as I have a lot of modular gopro connectors lying around. This version is for a generic sliding bed that you can mount the base frame onto. This was designed for the JGAURORA JGMAKER 3D and as the gantry blocks most of the piece from the back, I had to place the camera in front. There is a small glitch in that if you slide the bed all the way back and then all the way front, the camera mount will swivel around. Note however that it is unlikely to have the bed move all the way to the front unless you are printing almost at the limits, and the swivelling around just means that your time lapse capture will not be still, it doesn't impact the operation of the video feed. Note that you will need to remove one of the springs at one of the 4 tightening points in the bed. This means you will have to loosen all four until you can remove one. On mine, I placed the mount at the front right post pointed towards the middle of the bed. The bolt and spring goes on top of the hole of the FRAME piece. You will have to level your bed again after mounting the camera. There are slight differences in raspberry PI cameras. On my main camera, the four mounting points are all needed to hold up the left and right attached lamps, so I designed the holes to fit the heavier camera. With an older or more basic PICAM, the pcb may have different hole positions you only need to attach two points so choose whichever two will fit best to mount. The design includes M2 4mm washer that you can use to life the picam pcb off the mount by 4mm. There are 4 recess points at the bace of the mount to insert generic M2 hex nuts into. To assemble, you need the following parts. 1x M5 16mm bolt. (2 if you use the extender when your PICAM does not have a wide angle lens). 1x M5 hex nut. (2 if you use the extender) 4x M2 16mm bolt. (or 2 sets only - you only need to mount two points for smaller PICAM) 4x M2 hex nut This current design is because I wanted a new simpler and stronger design for my sliding bed printer. And I decided to use GoPRO style mounts for all the attach points since this allows use of any gopro extensions connectors.
