Ortur Master 2 Focusing Knob
Description
Description: This is a low weight simple manual system to control the focal length of the Ortur Master engraver 2. It is precise and will aid you to have the best focus with your laser engraver. By using an M8 screw (1 mm pitch), every turn of the knob represents 1 mm distance in Z movement. So When installed you can control the focal point and move it in exact amounts by rotating the equivalent amounts. It is designed such that you do not need to modify or alter the machine in any way. The system is set to be 50 mm distance to the ground (minimum distance range). When turning the knob 5 complete turns the system will lift to the focal length to 55mm, the focal point of the G2 original lens on the Ortur. For example: if you want to cut some thicker materials, you start cutting at a specific height do several passes Then release the lateral screw and then turn 3 times the knob. Retry the cutting, the focal point would be 3 mm lower and you will be able cut deeper, hence thicker materials. Remember to home every time before cutting since moving the knob can make you loose steps in your motors. Also tie the lateral screw since it holds the laser tightly. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Items: It uses the following materials: 1x M8 screw with a conic head or normal flat hexagonal head. 35 to 40 mm long. 1x Washer 8.5 mm inner diameter 16 mm outer diameter 1x Washer M4/M5 12 mm external diameter 2x M8 4 mm Nut (Reduced Height) 1x M8 butterfly Nut 2x M3 any length from 12 to 20 mm Screws Cylindrical head 2x M3 20 mm Conic head screws (Plate hold) 2x M3 nuts (Optional) 1x M3 12 mm Screw (Pin) 3D Prints Final Notes: I have attached the Fusion 360 File for anyone who wants to modify the sizes (or whatever you want with it).
