Mobile Drill Press Adapter - Makita DHP458
Description
What do you get when you combine a remote location with a mobile drill press for corded drills? A problem: Most mobile drill presses with a press down mode of action look very similar, but generally share a standard 30-/43mm Euro ring for tightening the drill. Most cordless drills in contrast have much wider necks, so they are not compatible with those drill presses. What a missed chance. I took it on myself to model my own adapter headpiece to fit my 18V LXT Makita DHP458. Most newer generation Makita models have a similar neck, which should make this adapter usable for other models as well, so I hope someone else will profit from my work, too. Check it out and let me know. After a lot of measuring the part was designed in FreeCAD. The particular drill-press I have is sold under the brand name "LUX", but there are many iterations out there under names such as, Wolfcraft, KWB, DrillMate, FAMAG etc..
