FLSUN QQ-S STOCK HOT END MOUNT NO AIR LEAKS
Description
Addition - Added a 1pc unit to replace the aluminum effector, in turn it is saving approximately 15g of weight from the original effector alone. I Printed this one out of PETG but ABS other high temp plastic will work. I would refrain from PLA for this one. Enjoy. UPDATE V3 NOW INCLUDED: I have yet to print this version, so I will consider this a WIP V3. And that it is. If any further issues, please let me know, as most of these are untested. It was brought to my attention that position of hotend was off roughly 2mm, this would effect prints that utilize the whole bed space. I made the adjustment and made a few other minor adjustments. If using the 5015 mounts on a 20mm fan, the rear brackets cause interference, use the clamp for 5015 mount, I have provided an extended version for the V3 mount as well. I have included 2 versions. Captive nut - same as previous versions Heatset insert - this is new, Only the base requires the inserts, the 2 close to the fan are inserted from the bottom and the 1 in front is inserted from the top. Inserts used are found on amazon, M3 x 3MM long. https://www.amazon.ca/Knurled-Threaded-Embedment-Assortment-Kit-300Pcs/dp/B07Q1HPJG6/ref=sr_1_5?crid=27CQ9NT2DUQ6R&dchild=1&keywords=heat+set+insert&qid=1615522275&sprefix=heatset+in%2Caps%2C203&sr=8-5 Update: V2 included. Changes, - Added 1mm to cooling fan face - Added .4mm to nut opening height in the base to prevent possible collision with nozzle. - Increased size of wire channels and made symmetrical both sides - cleaned up a few other areas as well. I also included a BLTouch mount, tricky to print as it needs support, but it is functional, I have fitted it, and doesn't appear to have any interference with the arms. X-34.00 Y0 is the offset to nozzle, use caution with the Z offset. Enjoy.... I made a simple no leak hot end mount for the FLSUN QQS series of printers that have the dual 4010 part cooling fans and 40mm hot end cooling fan. The ideal was to eliminate the air flow from the cooling fan and also provide cable management and support. Before disassembling the factory hotend, you will have to cut and re-solder the connections for the fans in order to remove the factory shroud, take note as to what wires go with what, as there is shared grounds and shared power. Printing I did use ABS, so other materials are untested. NOTE: you will need to pause at height of 4.44mm and insert 3x 3MM nuts in the base, I went this method simply because its was I had on hand and it works great. Enjoy.
