Prusa MK3S+ Mosquito Hotend Extruder 6.1
Description
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ *Update 03/29/2020:* I have uploaded the design version 6.1. This iteration has a hotend cooling path designed specifically around the mosquito hotend. The 6.1 parts have a better seal against the bottom of the hotend frame, which reduces cooling of the hotblock from air bypassing the hotend cooling duct. I have also integrated an iso mesh shroud to prevent debris from entering the cooling path where it would be difficult to remove. *The 6.1 iteration changes parts 01_extruder_body, 02_motor_plate, 03_extruder cover and adds 07_duct_shroud.* All other parts (04, 05, 06) remain unchanged, and are compatible with both the 6.0 and 6.1 versions. Legacy files from the 6.0 version have been moved to a compressed folder ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ I wanted to upgrade my Prusa MK3S to the MK3S+ R6 filament sensor while using an SE Mosquito hotend, so I designed this revision of the MK3S+ extruder. This design is based on the technical data and .stp files of the R6 printed parts on the Prusa github. The hotend is secured to a T-mount used in most other Mosquito hotend adapters. Due to issues with part interference early in the design process, I tested several fan duct designs and ended up using the RHD Fan duct for MK3 Bondtech BMG Mosquito (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4217188) with a custom mounting interface. This places the part cooling fan higher than in the original Prusa design, which required a custom fan mount. This upgrade requires 6 parts to be printed and uses the same screws as the original Prusa extruder, with the exception of a 35mm screw that secures the fan duct and replaces one of the hotend fan screws. The parts are labeled Mosquito 6 (abbreviated M6) to identify them as Mosquito hotend variants of the R6 generation of Prusa parts. Later revisions of parts will have a revision index like M6.1 etc. I would like to thank RH_Dreambox (https://www.thingiverse.com/RH_Dreambox) for allowing me to use the fan duct geometry and for providing feedback on my design.
