Ender 3 10x20mm Dragchain Mounts (Y and Z)

Ender 3 10x20mm Dragchain Mounts (Y and Z)

Description

I couldn't find a comprehensive set of drag chain mounts for my Ender 3 that I liked, so I made one. These are meant for use with a commercially-available 10x20 drag chain, so it may not be compatible with 3D printed drag chains. I have printed all of these parts, and they do function for the purpose, but you may have to plug some extensions for the X stepper, E stepper, and X limit switch. You may also need to re-order the wire bundle coming out of the mainboard enclosure (the Y-axis wire bundle on my Ender 3 is looped around in such a way that getting it in place properly isn't possible without re-organizing the wires). You may also find it necessary to modify the first link on either end of the drag chain to make sure it moves properly. Y_BASE: This is to mount the Y-axis drag chain just outside of the hole on the rear of the electronics enclosure. This mount attaches to the central 4040 extrusion using four M3x8 screws and four M3 hammer nuts. Attach the MALE mount to this piece using three M3x8 screws and three M3 nuts. Y_MOUNT: This is to mount the Y-axis drag chain to the bed. It replaces the factory strain relief and allows you to use a single ziptie to retain the cables. Attach the FEMALE mount to this piece using three M3x8 screws and three M3 nuts. Z_BASE: This is to mount the Z-axis drag chain to the rear of the extruder-side 4040 extrusion base. This mount attaches to the extrusion using four M3x8 screws and four M3 hammer nuts. Attach the MALE mount to this piece using three M3x8 screws and three M3 nuts. Z_MOUNT: This is to mount the Z-axis drag chain to the Z-axis. This mount attaches to the Z-axis via the lead screw collar nut screws (you may need to replace the factory M3x6mm screws with two M3x8 screws). Attach the FEMALE mount to this piece using three M3x8 screws and three M3 nuts. Z_MOUNT_BMG: Use this instead of Z_MOUNT if you have a Bondtech BMG (or clone) on the 90 degree mount. Total hardware needed: -M3x8, x22 -M3 nut, x12 -M3 hammer nut, x8 -10x20mm drag chain (1m length) (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07SFFT1K5/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1) -Two FEMALE mounts -Two MALE mounts The Z-axis mount is modified from BB_Designs's version, which you can find here: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3636444 The Y-axis strain relief mount is modified from FourDogs' design, which you can find here: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2958812/files Finally, the male and female drag chain mounts were derived from the mounts that came with my drag chain, which you can find here: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07SFFT1K5/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
