Desktop Vertical Modular Hydroponic Garden
Description
I liked the original quite a bit, just wanted it small enough to fit on my daughter's night stand. All of the plant modules will fit as is. I went with the single module to start off. I merged the lid and the top strainer into one piece to keep the height down. I used a pump from an old cat waterfall dish that we no longer use. The white pieces were all printed on my Ender 5 Plus, the purple on my MakerBot Replicator 2. I made a lower tank to keep the foot print and height down. The bottom of the tank is custom fit to the pump that I had on hand. If you have a different pump, just edit the uprights to fit your pump. It also has a top port for the cord that uses a rubber fitting that was already on the cord. If yours is different you may need to edit that as well. I added a Gatorade fitting to the top so we can add water easily. I used Harbor Freight 2 part epoxy to glue the Gatorade fitting into the lid. The tank was simultaneously my longest print attempt, 44 hours, and my first attempt at making a truly water tight vessel. I think printing at 0.15 resolution and I ran the hot end at 220, a bit higher than normal for me, thinking the layers would get better adhesion, did the trick. The band you see around the planter module is where I had layer separation on my MakerBot Rep 2. I salvaged the piece with that slip ring and used Harbor Freight 2 part epoxy to glue it back together. This isn't the exact pump I have but is very close: https://www.amazon.com/Uniclife-Replacement-Smart-Fountains-Converter/dp/B01CKU4JMC/ref=sr_1_2?dchild=1&keywords=Uniclife+ul65&qid=1609623710&sr=8-2
