Star Trek II TWOK Badge Kit
Description
Here's a simple kit to make the badge from the classic Star Trek film The Wrath of Khan. It was remixed using the delta shape from bamakojeff here https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3566129 and the backplate from BiffTannen here http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1595386. It is designed to use color swap for the plate insert colors but of course it can also be painted. I shortened the backplate to come closer to reference photos, and chose the delta for having more width at its bottom points. Made the ring separate so it and the delta can be printed without supports face down, but they can also be printed the other way using supports. Since its printed face down, to give the delta a nice look I used the bottom infill pattern called archimedean chords. This took some tuning to get just the right 'squish' to it. The metallic filament I used was CC3D Chocolate/rose gold silk PLA for the delta and ring, and CC3D antique gold for the backplate and insert. Use ivory or off-white, and gray for the other insert colors. The white portion of the actual prop is supposed to be like a butter-yellow color, fwiw. Display stand included fitting 8mmx3mm magnets but let me know if you need another size. Also included little tabs that can be used instead of magnets. Be careful gluing together as there isn't much connection area. - Update 1/18/21 fixed the tag so it should print all of the text fine without needing to enable 'detect thin lines'. - Update 1/31/21 added an enlisted version of the delta and ring without the backplate. Just have to figure out your own method of fastening as there isn't much room on it.
