Snapmaker 2 Glass Mounting Clip

Snapmaker 2 Glass Mounting Clip

Description

Edit: Use at your own risk! That the clips can interfere with the calibration routine. I have actually found the longer ones to be better over time. Please be careful when calibrating and observe the tool path. One such layout of clip placement that wont interfere during calibartion or the fifix is in the pictures, with the yellow colored glass and 4 blue clips, some small and some large. I have had a few crashes from poor judgment on clip placement, but no damage occured or anything, just made calibration way off from the glass being pushed down with the nozzle. Also want to add, that its hard to recommend a length on the screw because your configuration may add more thickness. Personally I have had different parts in between the glass and the heater and also I am adding some heat reflective material under the heater itself. Long doesn't hurt. Especially because over time it may give a bit and bend from the heat, giving you more thread to tighten. Hello, Upgraded to a glass bed (see FiFix for a good way to calibrate the bed) https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4671614 There was an existing Snapmaker glass clip made by stinkycol, but I needed some modifications to it so I started over on the concept. I apologize, I was trying to post this as a remix but it kept not publishing my item after completion. The Snapmaker 2 also doesn't have a lot of long edges that you can attach this to without risking it bumping the modules due to the design of the heated bed plate. First, this is for a 1/8" thick glass, but also accommodates some extra space for a heat transfer material between the heat bed and the glass and/or a print sheet if desired on top of it. There are two versions, the short one (Rev 2) is the more important one. You mount them on the outside of the glass/heated bed in the corners. The long version (Rev 1) will work on the sides if you are careful and have it pushed in all the way, but I was noticing it wanting to bump into the linear modules. It is useful on the front center edge if you want, but honestly the 4 shorties in the corners seems fine. For maximum strength, I would print this as oriented. Flipping it is tempting but you will lose strength. PETG or ABS is probably the best bet on this part. Designed for use of one M6 nut and bolt (or knob) each. Edit: For those interested... the creator of the FiFix sadly passed away. The link is broken, however... it can be found here: https://forum.snapmaker.com/t/for-all-who-want-level-on-glass/12437/180?u=moosejuice there are a lot of cool ideas on how to calibrate with the glass bed in this thread, including an IR board (which i just did and it was a good move).
