The Mercenary 3D Printer

The Mercenary 3D Printer

Description

Don't forget to Leave a like if you support me! The Mercenary is an Open Source FDM 3D printer currently in development. It's a Core XY machine build with as many easy obtainable metal parts as possible. Currently it only uses 5 mechanical printed parts. It is easy to build and the parts can easily be sourced. If it gets enough attention i will start creating guides and BOM's, aswell as uploading the few needed STL's. I want to share the technology behind the printer, as some aspects are quite unique. For example it sports a belt driven Z axis on a single motor, the Z stays in Sync and the bed does not move when power is cut. Designing and building this machine has cost me a lot of energy (And money) over the last years. I did quite a few revisions of the printer, but now it's time to come out with the design. You are welcome to Like/follow my page at https://www.facebook.com/3DMercenary Currently it uses a 340x340x6mm cast plate but i have a 412x412x8mm ready with Custom 230v Heater and a custom Pei Sintered Spring sheet. Printer features: 412x412x450 mm Print Area. Aluminum cast tooling plate as printbed, the most straight plate you can get. 3 point bed leveling. Belt Driven Z axis: Does not go out of sync, bed does not drop even a bit when power is cut. Core XY 200W Silent PSU + 850W 230V bed heater using a Solid State Relay. Direct Drive and Bowden, still testing what would be best. Will be fully enclosed with PolyCarbonate Easy to build and replicate Uploaded parts: Duet 2 Case. I created this small form factor case for my 4040 Extrusion, will fit 3030 and 2020 just fine. I used 2 metal brackets, but i uploaded a bracket that can be 3D printed. BOM for the case: 4x M3 15mm or longer bolts 4x M3 Nut 4x M2.5 3mm or longer PSU Cover for Mean Well LRS-200: Bom: 4x 7mm or longer. 4x M3 5mm or a bit longer (best not to use hex heads since the bolts need to be screwed in)
