8mm Hose Barb to FoodSaver vacuum accessory hose
Description
An adapter to allow using the FoodSaver jar vacuum sealers with common 8mm ID laboratory vacuum hose. This can be used in school labs to turn a jar into a vacuum chamber, for home food preservation, and as a replacement for a hard to find FoodSaver part. I use this 8mm ID hose hose: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08FYG12VL/ and these jar sealing attachments: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B016OL1AB6/ I was able to achieve a reasonable vacuum without adding a gasket, but one can be added by putting a little silicone on the mating surface, then fitting the adapter and letting the silicone cure.
