Sliding Axial Nozzle for Epilog Mini
Description
This is a laser nozzle for an Epilog Mini Laser Cutter. It is directing the air axially instead of slanted. This should make cleaner and deeper cuts possible. The lower part can slide up and down so it is still possible to use the autofocus. Additionally you need 4 2-56 UNC x 3/16 screws. To install: Wash and cure the part, cut the M3x0.5 thread into the small hole at the side of the upper part and an M6x1 thread in the bottom part. (Depending on your resin it might be better to first cut the threads and then cure the parts.) Take off the x-axis cover, unscrew the air hose at the top. Unscrew the bracket holding the lens. Be careful, you don't want to damage the lens or lose the o-ring. Screw a drilled out 3D printer nozzle into the bottom part. I think i drilled a 3mm hole and filed the tip flat. It helps to have some grooves in the front, so the air can still escape while auto-focusing. Now put the lower part into the upper part. Make sure that it can slide freely, maybe you'll need to use a dremel-type tool to sand a bit. Put the lens into the upper part (curved side up) and screw the whole nozzle onto the carriage. The o-ring is positioned between the lens and the carriage. Afterwards screw the air hose onto the nozzle, the focusing triangle should still fit. Refit the x-axis cover. Important: Align the laser so that you don't just burn the nozzle.
