HOn30 Sugar Train Cane Bin
Description
This simple sugar train cane bin is quick to print, easy to assemble and uses HO sized wheels. Bin Assembly: Print one each of the main components and two of the 'push in coupling'. The push in coupling can be used to align the front and rear panels during assembly. Depending on the printer, a small amount of adjusting may be required to get the parts to fit. Bin is affixed to the base with CA. Flyscreen can be cut to size and glued on the inside of the bin with CA. Wheels: 9.5mm diameter plastic or metal HO model train wheels can be used. Couplings: The slot for the coupling is designed to take a #5 Kadee coupling. A 2mm pin or bolt can be used to hold the Kadee coupling in. Alternatively: - Print 2 of the push in couplings. - Obtain a length of 2mm wire and cut 2 pieces approx. 10-15mm long. - Put a 90 degree bend towards one end to create a 'L' shaped 'coupling pin'. - Prior to installing the 'push in couplings', drill out the hole to 2mm. - Install the 'push in couplings' in the cane bins - Cut a piece of styrene or brass to approx. 6mm x 12mm. - Drill a 2mm hole at each end to create a 'coupling plate'. - Insert the 'coupling pin' through one end the 'coupling plate', then into the 'push in coupling'. - Connect the other end of the 'coupling plate' to the next cane bin with a 'coupling pin'. - You may need to use tweezers when joining multiple cane bins together.
