Universal Phone Stand - Adjustable - Split Tray
Description
I downloaded and used Frederico Esquivel's Universal Phone Stand (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2826629) at the beginning of the pandemic, due to needing a phone stand for all the video-conferencing calls that started happening...and started making them for friends since they also had the same need. However, I noticed that the screws I was using weren't always staying tight, and whenever the battery on my phone started running out (or if it was already plugged in and you wanted to pick up the phone and change orientation), it was a bit awkward, as it required taking the phone off the stand and the cable didn't always play nice with the stand...so I made this remix to address both of those issues! I added #10-32 threads to the base and and back, along with splitting the front arm of the tray so that it is instead two arms to hold the phone, and adding a split in the base for the cable to lay in. For the screws, I used 3/4" #10-32 screws (4 of them), which can be bought here: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B074ZMYW15. Big, big, big thanks to Frederico Esquivel for the original design, as my friends have told me how great having these stands have made life easier through this pandemic (and I very much share that sentiment). Updated 1/18/21 - Tray arms are a bit wider to also accomodate phones with extremely curved corners (such as the iPhone 12)
