Lapel Mic Mount for Automobiles
Description
Designed so I could mount a generic lapel/lavalier mic to the steering column in my car (for bluetooth calls and android auto). My mic had a 7.6mm diameter. I designed a channel into the bottom of the mount so I could cleanly route the cable (see photos). The mount is secured to the column using 3M VHB tape. I printed my mount in ABS, and I suggest using ABS, PETG, or a material that can withstand temperatures on a hot day. You can print horizontally without supports, or vertically with supports. I printed vertically to increase the strength of the clip and because the ABS printed better cosmetically. I print ABS on glass with aquanet hairspray. Temps were 80C on bed, 230C on nozzle.
