CR-10 V3 Filament Sensor Mount
Description

Problem
The original 110mm tall runout sensor mount that came with my Ender CR-10 V3 was giving me a few issues:

The filament seemed to be binding

The connector running from the sensor to the x carriage was pulled tight when the z-axis was homed

The mount isn't thick enough where the mount interfaces with the extrusion. This is causing the bolts to bottom out on the extrusion before the t-nut is tight, leaving the mount wobbly.

Solution
This bracket, although not a perfect solution, mounts the filament sensor parallel with the extrusion, giving these effects:

The angle that the filament feeds in is more natural and causes less binding

Since the mount is 110mm lower, we gain that in cable length

By increasing the material thickness of the mounting interface, the t-nut bolts no longer bottom out, giving us a firm mount to the extrusion

Issues with this Design
Given that filament has a point where it will kink and since the new mount locates the fulcrum of the filament coming out of the sensor closer to the x-gantry, we lose some usable print height. I am working on a design to fix this by placing the sensor on a mount that can glide along the rail.
